How Stupid is the United States
The US refuses to call the overthrow of the democratically elected Morsi Government a Military Coup. Seriously what the hell do you call it? Meanwhile the Egyptian Military basically executed 51 civilians last night including women and children. Granted the Muslim Brotherhood may not be liked by many however they were elected to office by 51% of the voters in Egypt. If the people of Egypt think they made a mistake then either they should have impeached Morsi or have waited for the next election. Having the Military come in and takeover sets a bad precedent and will eventually lead to further turmoil in the Middle East.

Egypt was A Military Coup
The recent Military Coup in Egypt harkens back to the days of Nasser when he led a military coup as just a Colonel. I suppose it's not a surprise that only 1 year after being elected President, Morsi would be removed from office. It's obvious this Military Coup will set the stage for additional Coup's in other Middle Eastern countries in the coming decade leading to more instability in the region.

Who Receives better Raises? Private or Federal
There is widespread belief among the media that Federal Workers receive better overall pay versus the Private Sector. However an analysis of Pay Raises since 1991 show the Private Sector has given out higher raises than the Federal Government. Keep in mind for 2011 and 2012 there were no Federal Pay Raises while the Private Sector saw average pay rise by 7.1%. Also in 2013 Federal Workers had no pay raise while Private Sector pay will likely rise again. For those that believe Obama is a big supporter of Federal Employees that isn't the case at all.

FAA Contract Weather Observers not to be Terminated
So now we see Contract Weather Observers are more important than Forecasters at NWS Offices who are supposed to be furloughed this Summer. This is incredible.

Dr. Kathy Sullivan head of NOAA should be Fired Immediately
This person has no clue how the NWS works. Congress has already told this person they have the money available to fund the NWS through the end of the year to avoid furloughs. But this NOAA head refuses to ask for the money and is a complete idiot.

Why isn't Congress Furloughed?
The one group of government employees who do very little is Congress. They haven't produced a budget in 4 years and I doubt 2014 will be any different. Yet nobody talks about them being furloughed.
Saturday, April 20, 2013
The Idiot Brigade that Runs NOAA
As you know NOAA wants to furlough all employees including all National Weather Service people at least 4 days this Summer. Want most people don't know is that Congress has said they would fund the NWS through the end of the year to avoid furloughs. However the idiots running NOAA have refused to ask Congress for the additional money to fund the NWS.
Double Agents

NOAA Leadership is a Mess
They are now planning to shutdown weather offices in the middle of severe weather season and the beginning of hurricane season. A few months ago NWS Employees were told that no furloughs would take place at forecast offices. Now NOAA wants to furlough all employees for 4 days this Summer which will mean at least part time closures of offices. So NWS Employees were basically lied too.
Why a Flat Tax Benefits the Government
By completely getting rid of the Tax Code for Individual Filers would actually benefit the Government. The table below shows a simple method for a Flat Tax by Income Level using data from the IRS for 2010. The Flat Tax Rate for anyone making under 100,000 combined would not exceed 10% while the top Tax Rate would be 28% for those making over 10 Million a year.
Using this simple method the Government would have collected 115 Billion Dollars more in Tax Revenue in 2010 versus the current methods used for taxation.
Here is a simple example using Real Income in 2012 which puts someone in the 100,000 to under 200,000 Grouping with a Flat Tax Rate of 15%. Let's say you are married and had a combined Income of $120,000. Under the Flat Tax Rate you would have paid $18,000 in Federal Tax. Meanwhile using the current IRS Table and a Standardized Deduction you would have paid roughly $20,000 in Federal Tax. Thus by using a Flat Tax you would have saved roughly $2,000.
Naturally if you have kids you would be hurt by a Flat Tax unless adjustments were made to account for that scenario.

Anyone making $600,000 or less should have an Effective Tax Rate under 18.4%
Since Obama only paid a Tax Rate of 18.4% for his 2012 Taxes on roughly $600,000 in Income then the rest of us who make $600,000 or less in 2012 should have an effective tax rate of 18.4% or less.

Chained CPI
Get ready to get screwed if the Chained CPI is implemented as your Social Security benefits will be reduced by 21%. The data below is right from the Social Security Administration website and shows the differences in Average Monthly Payments based on the CPI vs the Chained CPI. If the Chained CPI was started in 2012 those getting Social Security would have seen their payments reduced by 21%. Notice by 2050 the average Social Security Payment based on the CPI is $4678 or a whopping 174% increase. Thus the people at SSA are forecasting an Annual Inflation Rate of 4.5% over the next 38 years. If the cost of the products we currently buy increases by 174% in the next 38 years this country is in big trouble.
| Year | 2012 | 2050 | |
| CPI Payout | $1706 | $4678 | |
| Chained CPI Payout | $1334 | $3658 | |

DEFCON 3
The US has raised the level of Nuclear War to DEFCON 3 so it appears the North Korean threats are being taken more seriously than normal. Of course when DEFCON 5 is announced the war will aleady be going on. Thus the thing to watch for is the announcement of DEFCON 4 which means things are getting real serious for a limited nuclear engagement.

Obama only Blows 600 Billion Dollars so far in 2013
With all of the talk about cutting spending let's look at the real numbers from the Department of Treasury so far through Fiscal Year 2013. Remember the Fiscal Period for the Government runs from October through September. If there is a monthly surplus that will show up with a negative sign. So far halfway through Fiscal 2013 the Government has spent 600 Billion more than it has brought in. By the end of September the Deficit will exceed 1 Trillion Dollars once again.
| Period | Receipts | Outlays | Deficit/Surplus(-) |
| Oct-12 | 184,316 | 304,311 | 119,995 |
| Nov-12 | 161,730 | 333,841 | 172,112 |
| Dec-12 | 269,508 | 269,699 | 1,191 |
| Jan-13 | 272,225 | 269,342 | -2,883 |
| Feb-13 | 122,815 | 326,354 | 203,539 |

Fitch, Moody's and S&P...I'm Waiting
Once again the Federal Government has no intention of dealing with its massive deficits. However none of the three big ratings agencies have any balls to downgrade the US like they promised in the Summer of 2011 if no substantial plans were implemented over the next year. In fact since the debt limit was lifted on Dec 31st, 2012 the US has added over 400 Billion in new debt in just 3 months.

Federal Retirement System will be Revamped
FERS will not exist in 10 years and will be replaced by another system which will likely have no defined benefit plan. For those in FERS right now count your blessings because new government employees will likely have a much scaled down version in the future.

American Workers continue to be Screwed by the Corporations
Corporations are making all time profits by screwing the employees they have working for them. The chart below shows the % of Employee Compensation vs the % of Corporate Profits going back to 1929 on a yearly basis. As you can Employee Compensation is at an all time low of 59% while Corporations are keeping 41% of their profits. This is the largest divergence since records have been kept.

6 Months into Fiscal 2013 and Debt contines to Explode
The Federal Government continues to run up deficits. As we approach the halfway point in Fiscal Year 2013 (October through September) the US has increased its debt by nearly 700 Billion Dollars. Congratulations to the President and Congress who are doing an exceptional job. Based on the current run rate the National Debt will increase by nearly 1.4 Trillion Dollars in Fiscal 2013.

Social Security is in Bigger Trouble than most Realize
The chart below shows my projections based on when the Social Security Trust Fund will go broke. I'm assuming Receipts will increase by 2% a year while Expenditures will rise by 3% a year. Meanwhile keep in mind by the end of 2015 the Disability Trust Fund will be broke. The CBO projects the Disability Trust Fund will run up a deficit of nearly 1 Trillion Dollars by 2023 which means it will have to be funded by something. Recently Stephan Goss, the chief actuary for Social Security said the best way to fund the Disability Fund was to raid the Social Security Trust Fund (SSTF). If they raid the SSTF for 100 Billion starting in 2016 by the end of 2022 (point A) the SSTF will be broke according to my estimates.

Obama and Boehner Live in Fantasy Land
Last week both Obama and Boehner said the US doesn't have a Debt Problem. These two are complete liars. Since Obama has been in office the National Debt has increased by nearly "7" Trillion Dollars. By the time Obama leaves office it will likely exceed 10 Trillion.

Cyprus goes Full Retard
Folks,
You better start waking up to what is beginning to develop in Europe. Last night the IMF forced Cyprus to charge people with deposits in their banks a one time fee.
Cyprus will impose a levy of 6.75% on deposits of less than 100,000 Euros and 9.9% above 100,000 Euros. The measures will raise 5.8 billion euros, according to Dutch Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem, who leads the group of euro-area ministers.
So just think some day you wake up and all of a sudden the US Government will force the banks to charge a one time fee ranging between 6.75% and 9.9% on all deposits. In addition they will not allow you to take money out of the bank before it's implemented either. If you don't think that can happen here you are mistaken especially if the US continues to pile on debt.

Obama adds 200 Billion to Debt in February
After having a slight increase in net revenues for January...Obama added just over 200 Billion in new Debt for February. This is the 4th largest monthly increase in debt with all of them coming under his leadership.
Housing Recovery is a Mirage
Now we know the real reason there is a so called housing recovery. Hedge Funds and Private Equity Firms have been buying substantial amounts of properties so they can rent them out.

Obama is Clueless
I'm sorry but this guy is living in another world. We are nearing a 17 Trillion Dollar Deficit and all he care about is the economy which is going to collapse regardless of what he does. The Hill had a direct quote from the President which said "his priority is to prevent an economic slowdown and not to produce a 10-year balanced budget during a closed-door meeting
Wednesday with House Republicans".

Fitch, Moody's and S&P should be Ashamed
These three ratings agencies are a complete joke. Back in the Summer of 2011 they warned they would downgrade the US if no progress had been made on deficit reduction. Here we are in March of 2013 and nothing has been done to reduce spending. The Sequester is a complete joke and reduces the 2013 budget by only 42 billion. In the end I doubt it will even be that much.
Is Obama on Time with Anything?
By law the President was supposed to issue his budget for 2014 Budget by Feb 2. However it was then supposed to be presented to Congress by early March. Now we find out it won't be presented until some time in early April. With another Continuing Resolution likely to be agreed too by March 27th this means there will be no actual budget for 2013 which is the 4th year in a row. The big question is will there be an approved budget for 2014? Since the President is never on time with anything maybe the rest of us should join him and be late for everything as well.

No Pay Raise for 2014
The Republicans are trying to sneak a measure into the next Continuing Resolution that includes no pay raise for Federal Employees in 2014. That would make 4 years in a row with no raise.

Debt continues to Climb
At the end of February the national debt has reached almost 16.7 Trillion. keep in mind at the end of December it was near 16.4 Trillion so in 2 months we have added 300 Billion Dollars in new Debt. By the end of the year it will be well over 17 Trillion.

Ridiculous Headline from CBS News
Here is the headline "Fiscal talks fail, US stumbles toward Steep Budget Cuts"
You have to be kidding me these cuts are only 2.2% of the 2013 Budget. Yet CBS News says this is steep spending cuts.

Ayotte Proposes Extending Pay Freeze to Avert Sequestration
Yep, It's all of the Federal Employees fault for the Sequester. This is another person from Congress who needs to be voted out of office in the next election.
The Sequester Begins
It will start on Friday however Federal Employees need 30 Days Notice before they can actually be furloughed. That gives Congress 30 Days to figure something out which will likely be tied to the next Continuing Resolution that will have to be passed on March 27th.
Student Loan Deliquency Rates
There has been a large surge in non payment of student loans the past 6 months as student debt continues to rise towards the 1 Trillion Dollar level. This will be the next crisis the government will have to deal with.
Wednesday, February 27, 2013
Federal Employees have Nothing to Fear
Unless you are a contractor Federal Employees have to be given a 30 Day Notice by law before they can be furloughed. Thus in reality the government has until the end of March to figure something out before any Federal Employee will actually be furloughed.

Beppe Grillo?
Most American's have no clue who he is but they will in the coming months. He just won the popular vote in Italy but not the overall Election (similar to how our Electoral System works). However he will have a large say in Italy's politics which will affect the rest of the world as well in the future.
Visual Representation of Cuts vs Spending
Here is what a chart looks like of the Automatic Cuts vs Spending in 2013 by the Federal Government. OMG the world as we know it will end on March 1st if these spending cuts occur..
42 Billion is the end of the World
The real cost of the Sequester will be around 42 Billion as it only applies to Fiscal Year 2013 which will end on September 30th. 42 Billion is roughly 1.1% of the current 2013 Budget. All the posturing about the world ending due to 42 Billion in cuts is ridiculous.

Taxpayers should Decide how Government Spends it's Money
The Federal Government has a massive spending problem and if it's not contained will eventually lead to major problems sooner than later. Realistically the Government needs to cut at least 25% of its Spending on all phases to start with. Now since all of us pay taxes then it should be up to the citizens of the United States to decide where that money goes and what programs should be funded.
Thursday, February 21, 2013
Why is the Government Broke?
Anyone with a brain can see why the Federal Government has a Spending Problem. Based on the very conservative spending outlook from the CBO through 2020 you can see Federal Spending is forecast to be around 4.2 Trillion Dollars by 2020 and likely will be much more than that due to entitlement programs. Notice in 1995 Federal Spending was near 1.5 Trillion so by 2020 Federal Spending will have increased by nearly 200%. This is an unsustainable path and will lead to major problems down the road if spending isn't reduced.
Why the Federal Government is so Screwed Up
All you need to do is read the story from the Washington Post below to understand how screwed up the Federal Government is. So the government wastes money by flying the acting director of the National Weather to Fort Worth to terminate the Director of the Southern Region. Gee all they had to do is call him and say you are fired. Although this is a very small drop in the bucket this is why the government is broke.

Obama says sequester would take meat cleaver to government
Oh Please, let's stop the theatrics. 84 Billion out of a 3.8 Trillion Dollar Budget is 2.2%. Jesus Christ the Government can't even deal with a 2.2% cut in spending. And Boehner said he would balance the budget in 10 years. Yeah Right.

Military Retirment System is Underfunded by over 1 Trillion
Look folks I told you the Military Retirement System is broke but is protected by law while Social Security and FERS isn't. Here is the latest audit for the Military Retirement Fund. Notice in the chart below at the end of Fiscal 2012 it already has 1.1 Trillion Dollars in unfunded liabilities which will have to be funded by the government. By the end of 2022 I project it will be near 2 Trillion. Remember folks this retirement system is protected by law and the government will have to fund the liabilities which will add at least 2 Trillion to the National Debt if not more. Nobody is talking about this.

Food Stamp Usage continues to Rise
Right now nearly 48 Million people are on Food Stamps. If the trend from 2012 continues then the number of people on Food Stamps could be near 50 Million by the end of the year. If the economy is improving then why does the number of people on food stamps continue to rise.
Furloughs won't happen until April under Sequester
In reality nothing will happen on March 1st so Congress has until the end of March to kick the can down the road once again. Keep in mind the latest Continuing Resolution will expire at the end of March as well so you can figure it out for yourself what will happen. Look for another 6 Month CR accompanied by a delay of the Sequester.
