Who Receives better Raises? Private or Federal

There is widespread belief among the media that Federal Workers receive better overall pay versus the Private Sector.  However an analysis of Pay Raises since 1991 show the Private Sector has given out higher raises than the Federal Government.   Keep in mind for 2011 and 2012 there were no Federal Pay Raises while the Private Sector saw average pay rise by 7.1%.  Also in 2013 Federal Workers had no pay raise while Private Sector pay will likely rise again.  For those that believe Obama is a big supporter of Federal Employees that isn't the case at all.

FAA Contract Weather Observers not to be Terminated

So now we see Contract Weather Observers are more important than Forecasters at NWS Offices who are supposed to be furloughed this Summer.  This is incredible.
